Obituary

Priscilla Debnam was born September 12, 1946, in Lynchburg, Virginia to Rosalie Thurman.  Priscilla and her mother later moved to Washington, DC for opportunity and a better education.  Priscilla graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1964.  She worked at various jobs until she landed a job at HUD (Department of Housing and Urban Development) as a secretary.  In 1967 she met Robert Debnam and later married and had a son, Brett Debnam.

In 1981 she discovered her passion for bartending.  She started working part-time at the popular night club “The Classics”.  She enjoyed meeting people and while at the club she met various people like Mayor Marion Barry, Sugar Ray Leonard and various Washington Bullet (now known as the Washington Wizards) players.

On Sundays she enjoyed cheering for her favorite football team – Washington Redskins.  When possible, she also enjoyed cheering for her other favorite sports team – Washington Bullets.

After 36 years of working at HUD she retired to take care of mother.  She never lost her passion for bartending and continued to work at the Classics until it closed and then she later took her talents to Half Notes Night club where she finally stopped at the age of 67.

She loved her family and especially her grandchildren Brett Jr and Christina.  She introduced them to everyone and anyone.  She would regularly go on school field trips with them, take them to Target and McDonalds.

Priscilla is survived by Robert (husband), Brett (son), Brett Jr and Christina (grandchildren).
