Obituary

George Edward Fitzgerald Moses was born on February 23, 1937, to the late Jabez and Uranny Moses, in Buxton Village, East Coast, Demerara, Guyana (then British Guiana), South America. He was the first of their four children.

George spent his formative years in New Amsterdam, Berbice where he obtained his elementary school education. He completed his secondary education at Berbice High School. Upon graduation from high school, he moved to the Capital City, Georgetown, and became a member of the Civil Service, as an auditor. When the country became The Republic of Guyana in 1970, George had become a Senior Auditor, and was then promoted to the Office of the Prime Minister. Later, George held various senior positions in the Ministries of Home Affairs, Finance, Works and Hydraulics and he eventually retired as the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly of Guyana.

In 1986, George married Shirley Tappin and they immigrated to the United States of America. That union lasted 22 years with the death of Shirley in 2007.

Four years later, in July 2011, George married Roderine Denbow née Liverpool.

Preceding George in death was his son, Kenneth. His family will mourn his loss and celebrate his life. He was the husband of Roderine, brother of Ronald, Joy and Desiree, sister-in-law of Claudette, step-father of Patricia Tappin of Ontario, Canada, Colin Tappin of Maryland and Louise Patricia Galloway of New York. George was father-in-law of Ellen and Lynette; grandfather of Shawn Glen, Kendra, Kenneth Jr., Keisha, Ayesha, Ngozi and Alwa; great grandfather of Anthony, Shiloh, Seilah, Anjali and Korri; uncle of David, William, Dondra, and Drinda; great uncle of Deanna, Jayson, Danyelle and Alexa.

George will be missed deeply by all who knew him. May he Rest in Peace.
