On Monday, October 4th, 2021, God dispatched His Angels to beckon December to rest from labor, pain, and strife of this world. 

​

December Monay Powell was born in Washington, D.C., on December 25th, 1988, to Carole-Lynne Powell and the late Dennis Maurice Burch. December was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System. Her childhood was filled with many memories, family vacations and love from her five siblings who enjoyed her presence. 

​

In transition to adulthood, she brought two beautiful daughters in the world. She loved them unconditionally and they were inseparable.

​

Her favorite past time was listening to music, watching movies, along with doing arts and crafts. One of her favorite singers was Whitney Houston and she often got into trouble for singing loud. Social Media was a major outlet for December when expressing her affection for her loved ones. Mondays and Wednesdays was her most passionate days of the week because she loved to post her “Man Crush Monday” and “Women Crush Wednesday”.

December fell in love with Emmanuel Shoulars in 2014 and they got engaged on May 11, 2020. 

While planning to spend the rest of her life with Emmanuel she wanted to purchase a big house and travel more. 

She has left us physically, but her spirit will forever dwell in our hearts.  

December leaves to cherish her memories: Fiancé Emmanuel Shoulars; Mother Carole-Lynne Powell; Step Father Dewayne Dudley; Two Daughters Damaya Powell and Kamari Smith; Step-Son Bronx Campbell; Grand-Mother Carol Powell; One Brother Tucson Gray (Krystal); Three Sisters Elorac Powell, Elora Powell (Shanae’) and Diamond Powell; Four Aunts Barbara Wade, Sharon Morgan (James), Karen Pelham (Michael), Lauren Johnson; Six Uncles Eugene Burch (Emma), Jimmy Burch, Larry Burch, Ronald Powell (Cheryl), Charles Powell, Ivan Powell; Niece Madison Powell; Best-Friends Michael Burton and Tijuana Kittrell; Two God-Children; Taiwan Kittrell and Leona Cayard. and a host of cousins, family, and friends.

 

December was preceded in death by her beloved father Dennis Burch, her brothers; Dennis Burch Jr. and Maurice Powell, Aunt Tijuana Powell, Uncles Ralph Powell Jr., and William Powell; Grand-Mother Emily Wade, and Step Grand-Mother Dorothy Powell; and Grand-Father Ralph J. Powell.
